Professor Romanowicz, a worldwide famous seismologist, reflects on her personal experience as a female scientist and the career path she has followed.

国际著名地震学家Romanowicz教授回顾她作为一名女性科学家的个人经验以及她所经历的职业道路。

 

Professor Barbara Romanowicz简介

Barbara Romanowicz is a Professor in the department of Earth and Planetary Science at UC Berkeley. She is currently the director of Berkeley Seismological Laboratory. She is also a member of the Academy of Science in USA.

Barbara received her master in Applied Physics from Harvard University in 1975, received her PhD in  Astronomy from University Paris in 1975, and received her second PhD in Geophysics from University Paris in 1979.

She is interested in studying earth structure and dynamics using seismological tools, earthquake processes and scaling laws, real time estimation of earthquake parameters,  development of modern broadband seismic and geophysical observatories on land and in the oceans, and planetary seismology.
