***All meals including coffee breaks during the meeting period will be covered with one former dinner banquet (details will be available upon your on-site registration)

Day 1: June 22 (Monday) 09:00-17:00

 Greeting and logistics from local hosts
 Go around introduction of meeting participants
09:15 Plenary Session 1: Introduction and Overview
Goal of the meeting and announcing specialty coordinators

13:00 Breakout session by disciplines
1) Core-Log-Seismic Integration, 2) Lithostratigraphy, 3) Structural Geology, 4) Paleomagnetism and biostratigraphy, 5) Geochemistry, and 6) Physical Properties

*All participants are requested to prepare 1) posters on their researches to post them by the lunch time, 2) two summary slides per poster to be given to the specialty coordinators

13:00 Adjourn and freely city tour (i.e., not organized, on your own)

Day 4: June 25 (Thursday) Starting field trips
Field Trip 1: June 25 (Thursday) 08:00-19:00*
One day tourist trip from Shanghai to Suzhou (see below for more description)
 08:00-16:00 Field trip to Suzhou to visit gardens
 16:00-18:00 Bus trip back to Tongji*
(*To fly out China upon return on 25th cannot be guaranteed and not recommended)
Field Trip 2: June 25-July 3
8 days field trip to Tibet (see tentative description attached)

Accommodations and venue

Rooms for participants have been reserved at the Jinjiang Baiyulan Hotel (3 star hotel, normal standard room ~55 USD/per night), Hotel address: No.1251 Siping Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai 200092, China. On the web, this hotel is also listed as Jinjiang Metropolo Hotel with the same address above.
Conference room is in the marine science building, Tongji University, ~8 minute walk from the hotel.

Visa

Most overseas participants need visa to visit China. They are strongly advised to check with their nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate on visa requirements.
We recommend applying for a tourist visa (much easier to obtain and best for traveling within China).
