Master Student Meng Fei Joined China’s 31st Scientific Expedition to Antarctica
In the morning of Oct 30, two hundred and eighty-one participants onboard China’s only icebreaker Xuelong, or Snow Dragon, took sail from Shanghai to embark on the country’s 31st scientific expedition to Antarctica. Meng Fei, a master student from the School would join a cruise for marine geological survey at Victoria area.
This time, Xuelong will head for the country’s Antarctic Zhongshan Station via Australia, then go to New Zealand for a short period of refueling, then will be back to Zhongshan Station for conducting the rest of its missions. It is scheduled to be back at Shanghai port on April 10, 2015, with a total of 163 days and 30 thousand sea miles on the sea.
