Appointment Ceremony held for Prof. ZHOU Ning
On 24 April, 2014, an appointment ceremony for Prof. Zhou Ning serving as guest professor of Tongji University was held in the School. Ms. MA Jinming, deputy secretary of Party Committee of Tongji University presented the appointment certificate to Zhou. Dean of the School Prof. Jian Zhimin introduced Prof. Zhou of his research areas and the achievements he has made with China Ocean Mineral Resource R&D Association in managing some of the association’s expedition cruises.
Mr. Zhou said that he felt honored to receive the guest professorship, and would work with Tongji with all sincere efforts to pursue further achievements in research works and talents cultivation, especially in the area of ocean scientific expedition.
Prof. Zhou Ning currently serves as chief engineer of China Ocean Mineral Resource R&D Association of China’s State Oceanic Administration, whose main works focus on mining technology development, project and cruise management, construction of research vessels, etc.
