2+2 Dual Degree Training Program Signed with Faculty of Science of University of Calgary
On March 17, 2014, Prof. Ken Barker, Dean of Faculty of Science from University of Calgary (UofC) visited the School of Ocean and Earth Science and received warm welcome from Vice Dean of the School Prof. Yu Peng and Head of Department of Geophysics A.Prof. Chen Jiubing. During the meeting, the two sides had a thorough discussion on details of the proposed 2+2 collaborative degree program and reached a general consensus. With signatures of representatives from both sides done this time, the collaborative agreement was officially approved, and will be carried out among our School undergraduates of geophysics and geology first.
According to this agreement, after a successful completion of courses approved under this joint degree program during first two years of study in Tongji, qualified students from the School may apply to join in the Program and be transferred to the UofC as undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science of UofC to complete another two years study. Upon graduation, qualified participants will be granted dual bachelor’s degrees from both Tongji University and University of Calgary.
