The First Plenary Meeting for 2014 Held

On March 4, 2014, the School’s first plenary meeting of this year was held in the lecture hall of Ocean Building. Leadership from the University as well as faculty and staff members from the School attended the meeting, which was hosted by the dean of the School Prof. Zhimin Jian. 

Relative issues of the School were reported: Secretary of the School Prof. Jianhua Geng introduced the University’s joint committee meeting held during the winter vacation in which issues concerning undergraduate training program, disciplinary construction, green campus construction, efforts for the improvement of working manners of the administrative body were discussed. Prof. Zhimin Jian introduced the School’s main tasks for this year and our current progresses in promotion of the national seafloor observation system, construction of the marine cooperative innovation center together with other universities and colleges. He also encouraged our faculties to seize the opportunities of our current fast disciplinary development and gather strength and wisdom to make greater contribution. Deputy Secretary of the School Mei Lin reported on teaching and students affairs at the end of the meeting.
