Delegation from Lille 1 University of France Visit
In the afternoon of November 29, 2013, a delegation of four from Lille 1 University of France including its President Mr. Philippe Rollet and Vice President Mr. Francois Olivier Seys visited the School and the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology. The delegates, accompanied by Ms. Aihua Yan and Ms. Zejun Li from the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Tongji Unviersity, received warm welcomes from Prof. Changhai Xu and Dr. Jianru Li.
The cooperation between the School of Ocean and Earth Science and Lille 1 has lasted for more than 10 years, with a joint Double Bachelor Degree Program on Natural Science organized by the College of Sciences of Tongji, and a joint Double Master Degree Program on marine geology initiated in 2012. Currently, four students from the College, one of them from our School, are devoting themselves in the preparation works for studying in France next year.
During this visit, the two sides shared ideas on further conducting joint research programs and exchanging scholars and students, which helped deepen mutual understanding between Tongji and her French counterpart in marine sciences. Earlier this day, vice dean of our School Prof. Peng Yu also attended the signing ceremony of the two universities for the renewal of their overall cooperation framework agreement.
