Lead Petrophysicist of Centrica Energy Dr. Yan Jun Visit
On Nov. 22, 2013, Dr. Yan Jun, Lead Petrophysicist of Centrica Energy, Britain, was invited by Prof. Liu Tangyan to visit the School. In the morning, Dr. Yan Jun met with members of the School’s reflection seismic team logging group and had a full discussion based on presentations given by our teachers and students introducing their current research progress. Dr. Yan congratulated on the achievements they have made, and shared his opinions and ideas generated from his own research works. In the afternoon, Mr. Yan also gave a lecture titling Case Study of Modern Well Logging (high resolution, imaging, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)) Technology Applied in Europe and the Caribbean Sea Oilfield, which received attentive participation and warm discussion among audience from both academia and enterprises.
Dr. Yan Jun currently serves as Lead Petrophysicist for Centrica Energy, Britain, and as a foreign expert for Southwest China Petroleum University. For the last 30 years, Yan Jun has been working in about 20 countries and regions donating to geophysics research and teaching work, especially in the area of oil field service, and has more than 60 academic papers published in international journals.
