First Joint Committee Meeting of the New Semester Held

On Sep. 22^nd, 2013, this semester’s first Joint Committee Meeting of School of Ocean and Earth Science was held. Committee members Zhimin Jian, Jianhua Geng, Zhifei Liu, Peng Yu, Chunfeng Li and Mei Lin as well as the school’s office administrator Shunsheng Qin attended the meeting.

The recently-held Academic Steering Committee meeting, members of which includes Academician Pinxian Wang and Party Secretary of Tongji University Prof. Zuyi Zhou, was introduced first concerning the School’s works and progresses in construction of Long-Term Seafloor Observatory, National 985 Project, development of our Lingang Observatory Base as well as introduction of high-level expertise. Also, committee members discussed relevant regulations and measures of hiring research engineers, and issues concerning our new discipline “Seabed Resource Exploitation Technology”. The Laboratory 2013 Annual Plenary Meeting and reform of the University’s student enrollment were also introduced.
