The School Making Efforts to Expand Graduate Employment
Facing the country’s current tough career market, the School of Ocean and Earth Science is making efforts to create more career opportunities for its graduates and enhance partnership with prospective companies and employers. On September 18th, the School’s Party Secretary Prof. Jianhua Geng, Vice Dean of the School Prof. Peng Yu, Deputy Party Secretary Ms. Mei Lin paid a special visit to Bohai Bureau of China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) and Tianjin Branch of CNOOC for talent development and recruitment issues.
Deputy Party Secretary and Vice Director of CNOOC Bohai Bureau Taixian Guo chaired the seminar, which was also attended by some graduate representatives of the School. Prof. Yu outlined basic information of our disciplines, key research areas and measures for talent cultivation, and Mr. Hailin Wang from HR department of Bohai Bureau gave a brief introduction of Bohai Oilfield, their demands for talents as well as recruitment programs.
Prof. Geng expressed his appreciation for Bohai Bureau for accepting our graduates and proposed that the two sides establish closer ties in talent cultivation and research projects. He also encouraged our graduates to seize the opportunity in Bohai Oilfield’s fast development and work with all hearts and innovative spirits to make contribution for their companies as well as for the honor of Tongji.
