Opening Ceremony Held for 2013 New Students
On September 2, 2013, the opening ceremony for Class of 2013 was held by the School, which was attended by all the new students and their class advisor Dr. Li Jiangtao as well as school leadership including vice dean of the School Prof. Liu Zhifei, vice dean Prof. Yu Peng, Prof. Yang Shouye and Deputy Party Secretary of the School Ms. Lin Mei. Ms. Yuan Yuan, Secretary of the School’s Youth League Committee hosted the ceremony.
Prof. Liu first addressed a presentation to the new students introducing the development of the School and ocean sciences of Tongji, encouraging our freshers to seize opportunities to absorb knowledge with innovative ideas. Prof. Yang shared his life experience with these students and suggested that they have more communication to gather wisdom from their seniors and teachers. Dr. Li also gave his best wishes to the students encouraging them to embrace new campus life and set their sights on achieving fully their missions. Zhang Hongrui and Dong Fengning also shared their experience and ambitions as student representatives.
