Delegation from Australia Swinburne University of Technology Visit

On May 30^th, 2013, a delegation of three from Australia Swinburne University of Technology visited the School of Ocean and Earth Science. The delegation, led by its vice president Mr. Jeffrey Smart and accompanied by vice president of Tongji Prof. Bo Jiang, was received by our school’s secretary of Party General Branch Prof. Jianhua Geng and deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology Prof. Shouye Yang. 

On behalf of the school and the SKL, Prof. Yang first extended his warm welcome to the guests’ coming, and gave a brief introduction of the development of our school and the laboratory, especially of its current research programs and disciplinary construction. The delegation also visited our school’s popular science museum Undersea. Mr. Smart said he was impressed by the school’s fast development and fruitful achievements, and expressed his strong hope to initiate talks and strengthen mutual cooperation with ocean sciences of Tongji.
