The Second Plenary Meeting for 2013 Held

On April 9^th, 2013, the School’s second plenary meeting of this year was held in the lecture hall of Ocean Building. All faculty and staff members attended the meeting, which was hosted by school dean Prof. JIAN Zhimin.

Prof. Jian first introduced the current progress of the construction of our Ocean Observation Base which is located in Nanhui Lingang area of Shanghai. Concerning the relocation issue that the school is now facing, four options of solutions were announced for discussion, so as to gather wisdom and keep the relocation process in order and harmony.       

Director of SKL and vice dean of the school Prof. Zhifei Liu presented the school’s self-examination and self-correction work on research funding and equipment asset, and deployed further implementation of the work. The school would take this examination as a chance to further optimize its system construction and managing mode, so as to better serve the school’s scientific researches.       

The school’s enrollment of graduate students for 2013 was also presented during the meeting, and it was reiterated that the number of graduate students a mentor can tutor would continue to be under strict control so as to ensure the quality of student cultivation.
