Vice Director of the State Oceanic Administration Mr. WANG Fei Visit the Campus

On Feb. 2^nd, 2013, a delegation led by Vice Director of the State Oceanic Administration and Chairman of Board of China Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association Mr. WANG Fei visited the campus, who were received by Mr. ZHOU Zuyi, Party Committee Secretary of Tongji University.

Mr. Zhou expressed his sincere welcome to the guests, and gave an introduction of the history and current development of the university. He also extended his gratitude towards the State Oceanic Administration as well as Ocean Mineral Resources R & D Association for their strong supports, hoping to strengthen mutual cooperation with these two institutions.

After the meeting, the delegation paid a visit to the State Key Laboratory of Marine Geology, and had an extensive discussion with Academician Pinxian Wang, Prof. Zhifei Liu and Prof. Huaiyang Zhou, sharing ideas on technological development of China’s deep sea exploration, current R&D of the country’s ocean mineral resources, and on the preparatory work of the upcoming trail cruise by expedition ship “Jiao Long” with a manned bathyscaph launched into 7000m undersea of the South China Sea.
